SLOWLY

We are in a rush. Always. A rush to catch the tube, to get home from work, to be promoted, to buy a house, to be an expert, to retire, to be 'good' at yoga. We are rushing our lives away and we are setting ourselves up for failure. There is a beauty in taking things slow. there is understanding and learning. There is gratitude and appreciation. There is an awareness that life is happening- not just our life but life around us.

We can find examples and cautionary tales of rushing and of being too slow. one of my favourite lyrics from Loyal Carner: 'the first bird gets the worm. second mouse gets the cheese'. Both things can exist at the same time. But when we are bombarded with signs to rush, be first, be faster, we need reminders to go gently, go slow. So here is your reminder. We will practice slowly and mindfully and with awareness but consistently.

VENUE & ACCOMODATION

After a 2 and a half hour journey from Athens, you’ll be transported to our beautiful retreat venue. Evia Silence, a sanctuary tucked away in the mountains of Greece's Evia island, overlooking Porto Buffalo Bay coastline and the crystal clear Euboean Sea. It is here that you'll spend 4 nights soaking in the surrounding beauty, recharging your batteries and deepening your yoga practice.

Each room includes a balcony with a vast sea view and is designed with a commitment to provide a calming retreat from the stresses of city life. If you’d like to up the ante on relaxation during your trip, you can purchase a range of spa treatments including massage. These will be available to book before the retreat so that you can have peace of mind knowing when your treatments are and have something else to look forward to.

There are a mix of rooms available from quadruple to single occupancy. Whether you're going alone and looking to make friends on retreat or coming as a group there are rooms to suit your needs.

YOUR HOST

My name is Sofia and I'll be your host and teacher for the retreat. To find out a bit about my story you can head to the about page but here's some things you might like to know too:

-I am deeply passionate about deconstructing toxic productivity mindset! (something I experienced A LOT). For me, my practice and my teaching this means exploring our need to always be doing something and, instead, redefining rest and self-care as normal (not indulgent) humans needs.

- I am a qualified Yoga Nidra and iRest teacher. Both of these practices help facilitate self-enquiry and deep nourishing rest (there'll be lots of this on my retreats this year- keep reading to find out more).

- I am a qualified body-oriented (also called somatic) coach. What is this I hear you ask! Our body can tell us so much about what we need, if we only feel it and listen!
I use body-oriented coaching tools to address and work through stuck patterns of behaviour and beliefs related to toxic productivity and rest. This also supports clients in regulating their nervous system to create healthy patterns and boundaries between work and rest.

YOGA & WORKSHOP

This retreat has been created to include the perfect balance of yoga and relaxation. Take part in two classes everyday including an energising morning vinyasa flow to welcome the day. Enjoy the rest of your day (swimming, exploring...) and then join the group again before dinner to unwind with a slow flow and yoga nidra.

There will also be a workshop for you to join. Stay tuned for details.

DAY TRIPS

Join us on a boat trip in the Aegean Sea with a tour of caves with stalactites. There'll be an opportunity to snorkle and swim around the beaches and caves near the shore before we head to a private beach for some R&R. If you've worked up an appetite after a day full of adventure you'll have some free time to head into Zarakes village to get some lunch or explore some more.

If you're feeling adventurous there are other trips available at an additional cost which you can book beforehand and can be scheduled in so you don't miss out. Just send me an email to find out more.

TESTIMONIALS

These testimonials were written about the Lincoln Retreat in September 2021 but give a good idea of what to expect inMorroco too.

'Sofia's retreat was just what I needed to unwind from daily life. The location was fabulous; calming and serene. And Sofia's gentle flows and luscious yoga nidra restored my tired body and left my mind rested and renewed. A wonderful balance of movement and stillness, with private time for reflection, sleep, reading and walking. With the most divine food interspersed throughout the day. Such a wonderful experience.' - Natalie
